When an Asset has passed its Warranty/License Expiration Date, the date is displayed in red when viewing Assets in the Assets window, and in any other window
When a sales opportunity is won, and you want to translate it to the actual job, you can easily convert it into a Ticket or a Contract or Asset from the Sales Opportunity window > More Actions menu.
Once the lead becomes a real customer, you just need to change its type into "Customer", thus keeping all the linked information with the Account. which displays the Asset. It also warns you that the warranty has expired when you try to select this Asset for a new service Ticket..
To view which Assets are about to expire, you can either sort the Asset list in the Assets window by expiration date, or generate an Asset report which filters Assets by Warranty/License Expiration.
