Since this forum hasn't had any posts in a few months i thought i would bring it back to life!

We use a few software packages like CommitCRM. We are in the process of securing them as much as we can [within reason].

I am running into issues where ssl or https isnt supported or is very clunky and messy.

As far as commit, how many of you are using ssl certs? I want to enable it but the tutorial for enabling it is....

lets just say it my eyes get tired just reading it. is there an easier way? If it means throwing out $50 for a true SSL cert, then that is fine, if it takes me 5 min to setup. Saving $50 and spending an hr on doing it isnt worth my time.

I will admit i'm not an ssl or https guru, I know it works, i use it, and that is about as much as i can do at the moment.

My new project to learn something about it so i don't feel ignorant. I just figured out that https and ssl is essentially the same thing. You cant get https with an SSL cert, even if you create the cert yourself.

Any profound thoughts?
