I do yearly service contracts with monthly recurring billing. Is there a way to automate this?

Answer

Sure! You need to use the Contracts feature, set their start/end dates to a monthly basis (like November 1 to November 30) and then simply renew them to the next month at around the end of November. Renewing them creates new Charges automatically so you can invoice your clients (Created based on Contract-Price Charges), and there are also options to batch renew Contracts to any number of customers.

If you have to renew contracts on a monthly basis for recurring billing, and its a 36 month contract, how do you keep track of the final contract end date?

Thank you for asking. You would need to create a Task under the Account with a popup reminder set to 36 months from start. When the Task is due it'll pop and remind you not to renew it again.
