now to cut a long story short for a few year now I have imaged computers before carrying out repairs that I believe may result in catastrophic OS problems if it goes wrong, for example virus/Trojan removals or OS not responding at all.

my question to you guys is do you make a customer sign a disclaimer that you will carry out a back up on difficult repairs?

Do you as I have just backup repair then delete the backup?

If you do backup do you charge for it.

2) Create Pending Appointment
3) Create Charge from Appointment
4) DONE the appointment
5) Input ticket resolution
6) Complete the ticket

The problem I ran across is when going to an account, I have a pending appointment that is not assigned to a ticket. I am not sure if this was a duplicate or should have been part of a ticket to be billed. I am assuming it was probably a mistake.

So the question is, how can I see all my pending appointments even if they are not part of a ticket?

thanks!

We have the alerts server and we are trying to understand if this is possible:

1. Ticket gets created manually by an employee from within Commit
2. Creator of the tickets sets the ticket manager to another employee
3. New ticket manager receives an email alert that they have been assigned a ticket.

I know we can turn on ticket manager alerts, but then as we also get alerts for all new tickets anyway and wanted to avoid ticket overload.

I have done the following:

1) Created a new tab under Tickets
2) Created (3) Yes / No fields
3) Inserted the (3) fields into the Tab

Here are my results:
1) When I view this Tab for a current ticket or a new ticket, all (3) fields show up as checked but dimmed or greyed out. This can be misleading since at a glance, they appear checked. Resolution - Being able to set a default value

2) When I click on any of the checkboxes, all checkboxes are no longer dimmed. The boxed I clicked on is now checked and the other two are unchecked. I can save and everything is fine.

3) If I repeat senario (2) BUT I uncheck the box I clicked on which leaves all three boxes unchecked and click save, all boxes are now dimmed and appear to be checked. The way around this senario is to check a checkbox and save, then uncheck the checkbox and save. Now all three checkboxes are unchecked.

The only workaround I can think of would be to create a textbox with predefined values with Yes or No.

Any help would be great!

Hi guys,

We are just on the cusp of purchasing Commit having spent months looking for the right solution to help run our IT business.

My only reservation is the client over a VPN. I know we could use remote desktop with the SQL add on etc. but if we wanted to avoid remote desktop but get acceptable VPN, does anyone have any experience of this.

95% of the time my staff are working from the office, so that's fine, or happy to use the web interface, but as the business owner, my use of the product is far more intense.

Given that there are 5 of us, plus the web interface and alerts server, I would have to go for the 10 user license for SQL I believe (concurrent use and all that). Really could do with some experienced users offering some advice here.

Cheers,
Neil.
