I suspect not, although I would be happy if this is the case.
I suspect the answer is, SQL uses less bandwidth for data queries, queries are handled server side, but EXE and DLL's...

cheers @nattvillin, exactly what I thought, so the answer is that CommitCRM does not work without either SQL or VMWare (or some other virtulization)
Running CommitCRM across a 'slow link' still...

So you are saying to operate CommitCRM across WAN links or slower LAN links we need to use SQL via a VPN link or to use VMWare sessions?

All joking aside, it still requires the expensive SQL upgrade and still runs the executables via the server.
Updates for common customer requests do take a while so while I 'was'...

I do not allow any details to be given to a customer for the same reason as well. What we use back end is not for customer knowledge.
