Base 64 encode image for emails

I would like to add our logo as a base64 encoded image embedded in the emails. ...or for that matter as any kind of image.

If you add it as a URL on an external site, it is more likely to get blocked by email clients.

Do you guys know if there is a way to achieve this?

Mmm, maybe it will work if you can make it in Outlook, see the HTML it has generated for this and smartly embed this HTML source code into an email template.

Just a thought...
