we have noticed that if we have QB open while creating invoices from commit, QB uses the correct (default) invoice template however, if QB is closed during this process, it defaults to the first template in the list (in our case, Attorney's Invoice)... how do we get CommitCRM to default new invoices to the correct template in QB without having QB open?

thanks

I've just checked this with several different editions of QuickBooks and it actually worked just like you wanted it to - it uses the default invoice template, not the first one in the list.

When RangerMSP integrates with QuickBooks it actually perform a login to QuickBooks behind the scenes (it doesn't do so if a user is already logged into QuickBooks).

I guess that the QuickBooks user set for RangerMSP to login into QuickBooks doesn't have the correct default template set, and therefore the first one is used.

When logged into QuickBooks using an Admin user select:
Edit > Preferences > Integrated Applications & Programs > RangerMSP
then click Properties and a window will open. In this window you can select the QuickBooks user RangerMSP uses to login, usually it is the Admin user (and it should be kept like this).
Anyway, after seeing which QuickBooks user is assigned for RangerMSP to log in with, log into QuickBooks using this user and set a default invoice template (or generate one invoice and use the template you wish). Then log out from QuickBooks and try to generate a QuickBooks Invoice from withinRangerMSP. It should use the default now (a restart may be required to refresh QuickBooks settings).
