Okay windows easy transfer does not work from XP or Vista to windows 8.1 (Awsome Microsoft)

is anyone using other software to do the transfer of data and settings to windows 8.1

If not then this could be a problem as a lot of users will be buying new pcs after April.

How good does it work?

Does it move / copy installed programs as well?

Hi Nattivillin

Works okay if using it to transfer files with a new setup with 1 account but I had a few bugs when transferring to a computer with 3 accounts. It does not copy programs but does do a good job of collecting the data and putting on a 8.1 installation. easy menu options and easy to use.

We purchased it as well, and it is definitely a big time saver. I used it 4 times today.

We haven't bought Fab's AutoBackup (yet), a strategy that has worked well for us: We increased our fees a bit and provide a new hard drive with every reload, I save quite a bit of bench time and sleep much better knowing there is no way the customers' data are lost forever.
