Hi,

We are hoping to create a asset register for out clients. Importing feilds(like model.cpu.ram etc) from, say a server into a new Asset under an account.... just wandering if others have done this? I see the new asset has alot of fields - just wondering th best way to match them?

thanks

You can definitely import assets and have them created under your customer Accounts. Others may post how they actually map the fields, etc.

Thanks ,yes we are looking for a semi automated method....ie someone runs a progam to gather info. This can then be imported in bulk?

Yes, there's a bulk import feature for Assets. You can find it under Tools > Import & Export menu option. Also, after mapping the fields once, you can save that mapping for future imports and this should make future Assets import a breeze.
