We use a modified ticket template with checklists in our desktop version. Is there a way to use the same template in the web interface?

Do you refer to implementing and customizing CommitCRM with a new custom tab with custom fields (mostly check-boxes) on it? If so yes, such fields can be accessed via the Web interface too, however, Windows client design and the Web page design are entirely different.

Saying this differently - you can access and edit all your custom fields in the Web interface too, using a different layout that cannot be customized like the tabs in the Windows client can.

In case you referred to something else by "Ticket Template" please elaborate and we'll share our feedback.
