Answer
In the list of Accounts and Contacts lines marked with * do NOT represent Accounts but rather Secondary Contacts added under the Account's Contacts tab. As a Secondary Contact has a Company Name field that defaults to its parent Account name. In case needed, you can filter out Secondary Contacts from the list: On the Accounts window toolbar you'll find an [all types] dropdown, open it and un-select 'Show secondary contacts'. This can also set as the default for the Accounts Window by visiting Tools > Options > Accounts tab. |
