I use a special contract for a project we are doing for a client. We use the same labor items for all of the charges since it the same rate for all of the work we do for this project. Is there a way to make the system automatically select the item so we don't need to select it from the list every time we add a charge?

Yes, you can set a default Item for the Contract, which will be used whenever you create a new Charge on this Contract. You can set a separate default Item for Labor, Parts and Expenses Items. To do this, go to the Contract's window > Details tab and set the Default Items fields. After you save the change, next time you create a Charge for this Contract, the Item will be automatically selected. Note that you can change the Item selected for the new Charge if needed.
