setting up the outgoing mail server settings, if I enabvle the authentication, I get the error:
> AUTH CRAM-MD5 < 504 5.7.4 Unrecognized authentication type. > AUTH LOGIN RequestDone Rq=11 Error=504 5.7.4 Unrecognized authentication type. Error, Application Stopped RequestDone Rq=11 Error=10004 I can get email test to work without using authentication.... //ray |

Hi ray,
It's hard to tell what may be preventing from the authenticated connection from working. This may be related to security settings on your mail server, which may be using a non-standard communication protocol. We may be able to help more if you send us your log files (from the Help > Technical Support menu). On a side note, when working with a local mail server, authentication is usually not required, as the service communicates with the mail server locally. HTH Doron |
